Donut lovers have a new spot to add to their list this weekend. Known for its soft, fluffy “폭신폭신” texture and soothing visual style, mone donut (모네 도넛) is coming to Taipei for the first time. As part of 約束有限公司’s TAIPEI TAKEOVER Vol.4, mone donut will pop up at FOCAPOCA for a limited run from September 5 to 6. More than a two-day guest appearance, it also marks founder MONE’s first time bringing this new chapter of her pastry career to Taiwan, complete with Taipei-exclusive flavors.

TAIPEI TAKEOVER Vol.4 feat. mone donut

What draws the most curiosity about mone donut is its fluffy texture, which looks like it would sink in with just a light squeeze. The brand starts with a Korean dough recipe, then applies the Japanese handmade approach’s careful attention to fermentation, temperature, and frying oil temperature, giving its donuts a souffle-like texture that is moist, soft, and springy.

Compared with the heaviness of traditional fried donuts, mone donut places greater emphasis on the dough’s own wheat aroma and reduced-sugar seasoning. Light on the palate yet still satisfying, the donuts are intended to stay soft even after they have cooled. Add the brand’s signature hand-drawn illustrations, soft color palette, and packaging with a hint of Japanese general-store charm, and it’s no wonder that seeing a photo on social media makes you want to take a bite.
