No Need to Fly to Sweden: Two-Michelin-Star Vyn Comes to Yangmingshan for 5 Days, and This Time You Can "Move Into" the Chef's Table!
Two-Michelin-star Sweden, and you can actually “move in”?
Summary
• Yangmingshan YMS by onefifteen has invited Chef Daniel Berlin from the Swedish two-Michelin-starred culinary destination Vyn for a limited 5-day "VYN at YMS" guest chef residency from October 19 to 23, 2026. • With "Translated" as the theme, the guest team will use local seasonal Taiwanese ingredients to reinterpret Swedish flavors, presenting top-tier Nordic cuisine rooted in the land and the seasons. • An all-encompassing staycation experience with half-board is being launched, covering accommodations at Dwell in the Yangmingshan park, welcome snacks, limited-edition cocktails, a two-star dinner, breakfast the next morning, and a spa treatment for two. • The accommodation package for two starts at NT$54,000 (starting at NT$64,000 including SPA), and a dinner-only option including pairings is also available (starting at NT$25,300).
Flying to Northern Europe for a single dinner might seem extravagant. But what if a two-Michelin-star hospitality experience from Sweden came directly to Taipei? This October, Yangmingshan’s YMS by onefifteen is bringing in Vyn, the Swedish two-Michelin-star hospitality destination. Chef Daniel Berlin will be in Taiwan from October 19 to 23 to present a five-day-only pop-up: “VYN at YMS — YOUR URBAN OASIS, TRANSLATED.”
And this isn’t just about heading home after a Michelin dinner. From welcome snacks and limited-edition cocktails to dinner, an overnight stay in the mountains, and a Nordic-style breakfast the next morning, the entire experience condenses a short Swedish getaway into a full day and night on Yangmingshan.
Earning two stars the moment it entered the Michelin Guide
If the name Vyn is unfamiliar, Chef Daniel Berlin is certainly no stranger to the Nordic fine dining world. He ran the two-Michelin-star restaurant Daniel Berlin Krog for over a decade. After that restaurant closed in 2020, he returned to Skåne in southern Sweden and founded Vyn in 2023.
This also isn’t your typical Michelin restaurant. Housed in a former farmhouse overlooking gardens, fields, and the Baltic Sea, Vyn combines a restaurant, boutique hotel, food and wine bar, garden, and private dining spaces, allowing a meal to extend from arrival and dining to post-dinner drinks and an overnight stay. It earned two stars immediately in its first Michelin Guide selection after opening. The name “Vyn” means “view” in Swedish; beyond just the scenery, it represents a way of seeing the land, seasons, and life.
Not just bringing the Swedish menu to Taiwan
Interestingly, Daniel Berlin isn’t just replicating the Swedish Vyn on Yangmingshan. The event is themed “Translated,” swapping the land and coast of Skåne for the forests and morning mist of Yangmingshan. The cuisine continues Vyn’s spirit of starting from the season and the land, reinterpreting dishes with seasonal Taiwanese ingredients.
YMS by onefifteen is also providing more than just a table, using different spaces across the campus to complete this journey. Restaurant 12 handles the limited dinner, with specially designed Vyn Special Cocktails served before and after the meal. Guests then check into Dwell for a mountain stay, continuing the experience with breakfast the next morning, and can even add a dual treatment at SPA 6. In other words, what’s coming to Taiwan isn’t just “Vyn’s dishes,” but Daniel Berlin’s vision of how a dinner should expand into a lifestyle.
A five-day-only Michelin experience you can actually “live in”
This limited collaboration runs for just five days, from October 19 to 23. For the full experience, the Vyn Staycation Package centers on a one-night, two-meal stay for two. It includes accommodation, welcome snacks, two limited Vyn cocktails, the limited dinner for two, breakfast the next morning, and a special gift, with prices starting at NT$ 54,000. Including a SPA 6 dual treatment brings the price to NT$ 64,000 and up.
If you just want to focus on the dining table, there is also a Dinner with Pairing option at Restaurant 12, offering three pairing choices: Non-alcoholic, Wine, and Prestige Wine. There’s no need to book plane tickets or take a dozen-hour flight. This October, you only need to head up Yangmingshan from Taipei, and the flavors and rhythm of southern Sweden are just a mountain away.
