Slow-burn surprises you’ll get hooked on: Pickled Mustard Greens Fish Eggs Benedict, Mouthwatering Chicken Gua Bao... Knock Knock Heaven hidden on the second floor!
The potato-and-cheese pressed waffle is so, so good 🤤
Over the past few years, Zhongshan has become one of Taipei’s liveliest neighborhoods. It’s great for shopping, and it’s also a food lover’s haven, from department-store restaurants and bakeries beneath leafy trees to snacks tucked away in side streets and Knock Knock Heaven, hidden on the second floor of a building and the spot POPBEE is sharing this time.

As you make your way up the stairs, you may soon fall for Knock Knock Heaven’s space, too. Its expansive white interior, inspired by classical temples, creates a dining setting that bridges past and present while echoing the “Heaven” in its name. The brand hopes to challenge mainstream restaurant aesthetics and bring that belief in resisting definition to the table. For Knock Knock Heaven, flavor matters, as does the reliability of where its ingredients come from. Ingredients are selected from small farms across Taiwan, with an emphasis on fresh direct delivery and pure flavors, so each bite conveys the character of the land and the seasons. The dishes also use cage-free eggs from the Friendly Eggs Alliance and animal-welfare milk, whose natural farming methods lend a clean, pure egg and milk aroma.
With borderless all-day dining at its core, Knock Knock Heaven’s menu features generously filled breakfast plates alongside dishes spanning Chinese, Southeast Asian, Tex-Mex, and European flavors. Spicy, smoky, tangy, and rich notes create a distinct rhythm throughout. From mains and desserts to creative dishes and specialty drinks, Knock Knock Heaven doesn’t pursue a strict culinary identity; the dish names alone are enough to spark curiosity.
- Pickled Mustard Greens Fish Eggs Benedict
A hash brown made with fresh potatoes and cheese, pressed and cooked in a waffle iron until golden and crisp, replaces the English muffin. Topped with tender sea bass and authentic Sichuan pickled mustard greens sauce, then shaped with upright torched lettuce, it turns a classic brunch dish into a visually striking creation.
- Mouthwatering Chicken Gua Bao
European-style lye bread replaces the traditional steamed bun, paired with pickled shiso and purple cabbage for a crisp, modern take on this street snack. Familiar chili heat is given a new presentation, bringing its fusion style into sharper focus.
- Thai Red Curry Seafood Risotto
Instead of the heavy dairy richness of traditional risotto, this dish uses red curry as its aromatic base. Carefully cooked with Hualien No. 26 rice, the grains absorb the curry flavor while retaining their springy texture and distinct bite, allowing the seafood’s natural sweetness to shine through. It’s rich without being heavy, with a refreshing finish: a balanced dialogue between Southeast Asian and European flavors.
- Nutty Tiramisu Dutch Baby
This chocolate Dutch baby is slowly baked in a skillet, with a thick, crisp exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. Served with a generous layer of melt-in-your-mouth cream and cocoa powder, it hides nuts inside for an unexpected textural touch, building rich flavor with every bite.
