#PFW: Celine’s elevated everyday wardrobe with the Triomphe accordion bag and layered jewelry... effortlessly chic!

Under creative director Michael Rider, the new Celine has repeatedly stirred the hearts of Old Céline fans, expressing its style through details. Rather than making loud, showy statements, it creates an elevated everyday wardrobe. While Celine’s past few seasons focused on communicating its “core,” the Fall/Winter 2026 show centers on “instinct,” casting aside design concepts and deliberate planning to present Celine at its “best.”

This season, Celine chose the Institut de France on Paris’s Left Bank as its venue, echoing the institution’s standing as a haven for academia. The Fall/Winter 2026 show reveals the collection’s appeal through its details, built on subtle tension: a touch of perfectly judged rule-breaking and a small act of rebellion make contradiction, imperfection, and personality key threads running through the looks. Classics such as tailored suits, coats, and knits are reworked through adjusted proportions and layering, retaining precise cuts while taking on a more relaxed, fluid form. Rather than chasing dramatic effect, these pieces create a complete, wearable contemporary wardrobe that allows the wearer to remain understated and elegant.

There’s often only a fine line between minimal and boring. Michael Rider makes an impression through the curves of his cuts, the substantial feel of his materials, and restrained jewel-box brights in red, purple, and pink. The clothes are given room to breathe, while jewelry is unapologetically layered on the hands and around the neck, joined by oversized scarves, hats, and other accessories to give each look more attitude and strength.

There are also more Triomphe half-moon bags, while the Celine 16 is rendered in textured leather. The updated Trio Flap has returned as well. Worth noting is this Triomphe logo flap bag: its square silhouette looks no different at first glance from the previously popular classic, yet its interior has been redesigned with accordion-style compartments, making the bag look slimmer.
