It follows 16-year-old Hodaka, who runs away from home and heads to Tokyo alone to make a life for himself. There, he meets 15-year-old Hina, who depends on each other with her younger brother. Close in age, the two are trying to make their way in a lonely big city, drawn to each other and learning to rely on and help one another. Hina has a very special power: she can change the weather, turning a rainy day into sunshine in an instant. The film repeatedly raises the question of “selfishness,” allowing us to see the adult world through teenagers’ eyes. Would you choose to “sacrifice the few to save the many,” or “give up the safety of the entire world to save the person you love”?

This touching romance stars Korean stars So Ji-sub and Son Ye-jin. Woo-jin, played by So Ji-sub, is a single father who raises his son alone after his wife Soo-ah, played by Son Ye-jin, dies from an illness. Before she died, Soo-ah promised their son that she was only leaving for a short time and would return to see him when the next rainy season came. Sure enough, when the next rainy season arrives, Soo-ah returns. However, she has lost all memories of Woo-jin and their son. Woo-jin tries to help Soo-ah remember their past, from meeting and dating to falling in love and getting married. Such sweet memories can bring tears to your eyes before you know it. No one is born knowing how to be a parent; everyone learns from their mistakes. Children and adults alike can grow and learn together as a family.

During the trip, they discover that their values are completely different, and their views on life and love are full of conflict. Do you believe in love at first sight, or love that grows over time? When fate arrives, there’s no stopping it. A relationship needs mutual attraction and shared values; having compatible values matters more than a glamorous appearance.
