Compared with the first-generation model, the new instax Pal 2™ brings plenty of thoughtful touches to the shooting experience. It features a retro-style lever and a physical viewfinder right on the body; simply turn the lever to switch among four frame formats: mini, SQUARE, WIDE, and borderless. Depending on the mood you want to create and your personal preference, you can also switch between 10-megapixel and 1-megapixel resolution settings for images with distinctive detail or a nostalgic lo-fi feel.

The connectivity and software features have also seen noticeable improvements. After pairing it with the dedicated app, connect the camera to your smartphone via USB Type-C to transfer a single photo in about 0.7 seconds for quick access to your digital files. Bluetooth® wireless transfer is also available. The app includes up to 30 filters and effects, from the soft Modern and Mono to the retro Pure and Flare, which can be easily loaded onto the camera for editing and sharing.

For those who often attend gatherings or enjoy capturing movement, instax Pal 2™ offers the fun “instax Animation™” feature. Press and hold the shutter button to take up to 10 shots in succession, and the camera automatically creates a flipbook-style animated image file. With the included angle-adjustment accessory and smartphone remote shutter control, group selfies and shots from unusual angles are especially easy.

Although the camera is a digital image-capture device without a built-in printer, it connects with the full range of instax Link™ smartphone printers, including mini Link, SQUARE Link, and Link WIDE, as well as hybrid cameras such as mini Evo and mini LiPlay, to print physical photos.
