At first glance, the all-white 3D garden looks like a new attraction at an amusement park. It is actually “Secret Garden,” the latest art exhibition from Sulwhasoo and popular artist Cj Hendry. Best of all, there is no need to carefully keep your hands behind your back as you view the exhibition: You can pick up a crayon and color all over the space!

Step into a giant 3D coloring book
Australian artist Cj Hendry, known for her realistic drawings and immersive experiences, drew inspiration this time from the hidden courtyard at Sulwhasoo’s Bukchon flagship store in Seoul. The exhibition space is filled with large, flat wooden sculptures that fit together like puzzle pieces to form a huge forest landscape. Hendry says she loves the idea of a space people can truly walk into and explore, then use color to make their own.
Upon entry, everyone receives a complimentary box of custom crayons, so they can freely add their own colors to the 3D sculptures in this secret garden.
Celebrating 60 years of the classic Ginseng Cream
This special collaboration is part of Sulwhasoo’s global Beauty Crafted in Time campaign, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the brand’s iconic Concentrated Ginseng Rejuvenating Cream. During the exhibition’s run at The Brant Foundation Gallery in Manhattan, visitors could take home a co-branded tote bag containing a 5 ml sample of the classic Ginseng Cream after their visit. Limited-edition merchandise specially designed by Cj Hendry for the collaboration was also available on-site.
Next stop: Seoul
