Popular Seoul cafe AUFGLET has officially announced its arrival in Taiwan, with its first location set to open in Taipei’s bustling East District. Known as the “original croffle” shop, AUFGLET has been featured on shows including Amazing Saturday and Running Man, and is a favorite under-the-radar spot among many celebrities. Even popular actor Byeon Woo-seok has stopped by in person, sparking wave after wave of check-in posts.

AUFGLET began with its Geumho location in Seoul in 2018 and grew to seven locations in just a few years. Its black-and-white, minimalist industrial interiors are understated yet atmospheric. Beyond being a popular photo spot, its coffee and desserts are equally delicious, making it the kind of place where you’ll want to linger all afternoon.

When you visit AUFGLET, you absolutely can’t miss its signature croffle, which has become a hit across Korea. Croissant dough is pressed in a waffle iron to create a waffle-shaped pastry that’s crisp on the outside and soft and chewy inside, with plenty of texture in every bite. Topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a light dusting of cinnamon, it’s sweet without being cloying and a feast for the eyes and the palate. Just looking at it will make you want to line up and try one right away.

Another must-try at the first Taiwan location is the croissant ball! Unlike a traditional croissant, the dough is shaped into plump little balls and baked until the outside is crisp and flaky.
