Getting inked by the pool on the 50th floor? Kimpton teams up with Who’s Nosey Tattoo Studio for a limited-time charity tattoo event, an unexpectedly cool combo

As March arrives, Hong Kong seems to be filled with an artistic spirit. While everyone’s busy booking visits to major galleries and exhibitions, we found an art experience that’s even more distinctive and meaningful. Imagine being by the pool on the 50th floor in Tsim Sha Tsui, cocktail in hand, with music playing and Victoria Harbour in view, as an artist leaves a permanent mark on your skin. What would that feel like? This year, Kimpton Hotel Hong Kong Tsim Sha Tsui is taking a bold approach, teaming up with renowned local tattoo studio Who’s Nosey Tattoo Studio to bring Arts Month to another level.

A tattoo party by the pool in the sky

If you follow Hong Kong’s tattoo scene, you’re likely familiar with Who’s Nosey Tattoo Studio, founded by Yeeki Lo. This tattoo collective, full of personality, will take over Swim Club on the Kimpton’s rooftop from March 6 to 8. It’s more than a tattoo appointment; it’s a party that brings together visual art, drinks, and music. During the event, Swim Club will become a hip art salon, with Who’s Nosey’s six resident artists – Yeeki, Chunn, TJ, Sze, Jacky, and Kash – on hand. They’ll offer a series of exclusively designed flash tattoos, each in a distinct style. At this three-day pop-up, you can get a one-of-a-kind tattoo while enjoying Swim Club’s special Arts Month food and drink menu. It’s a multisensory experience that will leave a deeper impression than simply visiting a gallery.

Sharing kindness through ink: a charitable initiative from HK$ 800

Called the “Ink Support Fundraiser,” the event lets you do good while getting inked. Tattoo designs are affordably priced from HK$ 800 to HK$ 2,000. Most moving of all, all proceeds will be donated to local charity Happy Tree Social Services to support medical care and education for underprivileged children. By turning art into care for the community, the mark on your skin takes on an added layer of warmth and meaning. Please note that the event is first-come, first-served and requires no reservation, so arrive early if you’re interested.

The hotel becomes a contemporary gallery: three photo-worthy installations to see

Beyond the limited-time tattoo event, the hotel has thoughtfully placed a number of artworks throughout its spaces for Arts Month. Don’t miss “Anchors of the Harbour” by artist Cynthia Mak, suspended above the spiral staircase in the 16th-floor lobby. Inspired by Victoria Harbour’s buoys, the woven sculpture in vivid safety orange and navy blue makes a powerful visual statement. The lounge also features Angel Hui’s “Embroidery on Plastic Bags,” which recreates the familiar scenes of Goldfish Market on plastic bags through embroidery, filled with Hong Kong character and poetry. In the Kimpton Harbour View Suites, Julie Progin’s print works capture the rhythm of Hong Kong’s streets. Scattered throughout the hotel, these works let you encounter art when you least expect it.
