FURBY is like a Y2K sprite that jumped out of an old computer screen, complete with a retro grainy filter, an offbeat kind of cuteness, and the innocence and rebellion unique to the millennium era. That sensibility naturally extends to her world of cakes.
FURBY’s playful cake shop, eggtalll
With its bold American retro style, eggtalll starts with daring color combinations and colorful graphics, then adds buttercream borders and piped details that look as though they stepped out of a cartoon. The overall effect is playful with a touch of humor, like childhood dreams brought straight into reality. Through custom designs, each cake can take on a different offbeat theme and become the perfect gift for expressing a sentiment made just for someone special.

The name eggtall is simple and direct: “egg tall” literally translates to “cake,” yet it holds a wealth of stories. The year FURBY graduated from college, she went to work at Yellowstone National Park in the United States and traveled along the West Coast, where she was deeply drawn to the color and warmth of food in American and Mexican cultures. After returning to Taiwan, she worked, learned, and found her way at fine-dining restaurants and dessert shops. Then one day, she made a custom birthday cake for a friend, unexpectedly setting eggtall in motion.
Where does FURBY’s offbeat aesthetic come from?
A look at her social media shows that FURBY’s life is surrounded by music, friends, her dog Cheetos, and a host of cool, beautiful little things. Her seemingly casual photos hold her offbeat, wildly imaginative vision, along with an almost obsessive commitment to the overall aesthetic. Scrolling through her feed feels like flipping through an old magazine: glitter, metallics, and candy colors collide in the images, yet are unexpectedly harmonious and captivating.
When asked about the people and things that have influenced her most, FURBY’s eyes light up as she immediately names the magic of American culture and old movies. Those slightly distorted, emotionally charged images seeped into her creative DNA like old film stock, shaping the distinctive visual language she has today.

She’s especially drawn to works that seem carefree yet precisely capture loneliness and the bizarre: the alienated confusion of youth in “GHOST WORLD,” the brief yet genuine nighttime encounters between strangers in “Night on Earth,” and the subcultural spirit and independence in the films of directors Jim Jarmusch and Quentin Tarantino. Beneath their dark humor lies a sense of detachment, and every frame seems to whisper, “Aren’t we all outsiders?”
“Oh! And all my good friends around me!” FURBY adds with a laugh. This group of fellow oddballs is her creative fuel. Each has a distinct personality and aesthetic, seemingly expanding her world and making it even more wonderfully strange. It’s these small, singular moments in life that allow FURBY to work the offbeat, the beautiful, childhood dreams, and humor into her cakes, giving every eggtall creation a soul and an attitude of its own, much like FURBY herself, and making you want to learn more.
