Another cute Zhongshan shop to add: Korean, Japanese and Taiwanese niche brands all in one place, with bags, accessories, clothes... you’ll shop till you drop!

Over the past few years, Taipei’s Zhongshan shopping district has become a shopping mecca for many women, with everything from affordable brands and department stores to niche labels and vintage shops. You could spend an entire afternoon there and still not see it all. This time, POPBEE is sharing a new store that’s well worth adding to your list: the first concept store from petite women’s favorite mini matters!

Founded in 2020 by influencer and YouTuber Meg, mini matters has long been a favorite among many women. Its new releases and collaborative collections are always fun to browse, and it has stores in Taipei and Hsinchu, with a Taichung location opening soon. So what makes this “concept store” different? The answer is its selection of brands!

With glass from the ceiling to the walls, the entire mini matters concept store feels like a greenhouse. Wooden display cabinets and display areas make the space feel bright and warm. Along with mini matters’ latest collaboration with the cartoon character Hua Xiaotu, it also carries many cute overseas brands that are harder to find in everyday shopping:

First up is Korean brand YEOMIM, founded in 2016. Named after the Korean word for “fastening,” it is loved for its “modern bohemian” bags, which perfectly balance clean, streamlined lines and structured silhouettes with distinctive details. TWICE’s Tzuyu, Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Joy, and Taeyeon have all carried YEOMIM bags.

The accessories section is full of hidden gems, too, including eat, a handcrafted sterling silver jewelry brand from Osaka, Japan. Drawing inspiration from vintage styles, art, and nature, it creates statement pieces that combine beautiful curves with a sense of weight. Taiwan’s “Big Ears” explores different arrangements and combinations through handcrafted textures and varied materials, resulting in playful, refreshing designs. There’s also Seoul accessory brand JIMI, which uses 3D-printing technology to create a range of eye-catching yet practical charms, as well as OLGA GOOSE CANDLE, founded by Japanese candle artist Risa Hiratsuka. Moving beyond conventional candle forms, its creations recreate familiar scenes from everyday life and are so cute you’ll hate to light them!
