During Fashion Week, Paris’s Marais district is always packed with editors rushing between shows and guests attending them, yet this June, the streets had an unexpected new energy. ASICS SportStyle recently announced a collaboration with Los Angeles community brand Little Tokyo Table Tennis (LTTT), taking over Ellia Art Gallery during Paris Fashion Week 2026. From June 25 to 27, it will no longer be just a static exhibition space, instead becoming a table tennis pop-up filled with laughter and the sound of paddles striking balls . Even more exciting, the pair will also launch their first collaborative shoe, the GEL-RESOLUTION 5, in July .

Bringing Los Angeles’s Tuesday ritual to Paris

If you’re not yet familiar with LTTT, the community was founded in Los Angeles’s Little Tokyo in spring 2021, when a few friends came together over their love of table tennis . It has since become one of the most recognizable public Tuesday gatherings at Terasaki Budokan in downtown Los Angeles . This time, ASICS is bringing this inherently laid-back street culture to the global stage .

At the pop-up, visitors can watch matches and are welcome to pick up a paddle themselves . LTTT founder Jiro shared, “We play for joy. If you don’t want to play table tennis, that’s okay, but we hope you can feel that urge.” This simple invitation makes sport less of a high-pressure competition and more of a language that brings people together .

A tennis archive reimagined: the GEL-RESOLUTION 5 collaboration arrives

Of course, beyond the fun in-person event, the design work both sides have been preparing for some time is another highlight. The collaboration draws on ASICS’s extensive tennis archive and reworks it through LTTT’s distinct community perspective to create the new GEL-RESOLUTION 5 sneaker.

The original tennis shoe, designed for on-court performance, has been transformed into something closer to modern subcultures, tapping into the sneaker world’s recent interest in exploring niche sports archives. The shoe retains ASICS’s classic silhouette and blends Japanese heritage with Los Angeles’s laid-back spirit. The new GEL-RESOLUTION 5 will officially launch in July through the LTTT website, the ASICS website, and select retailers .
