When a fashion brand meets a fragrance publisher

Though Acne Studios and Éditions de Parfums Frédéric Malle come from the worlds of fashion and fragrance, they share the same creative philosophy. Both brands draw inspiration from photography, architecture, culture, and design, carrying these aesthetic languages through their clothing, spaces, scents, and packaging. Acne Studios and Frédéric Malle believe that true creativity should not be limited by established frameworks, but should retain cross-disciplinary thinking and complete creative freedom. This shared belief led to their collaborative fragrance in 2024, which Frédéric Malle described as a perfume that “puts Acne Studios in a bottle.” It has a neoclassical fragrance structure while retaining the brand’s rebellious spirit: cool yet captivating, avant-garde yet familiar.
Created by rising perfumer Suzy Le Helley, the fragrance opens with striking aldehydes, creating a clean, bright impression with an almost metallic sheen. Rose, violet, and orange blossom then weave together into a soft floral note, with a touch of frankincense adding a smoky layer. It settles into a warm dry-down of vanilla, creamy sandalwood, peach skin, and white musk. The overall scent has clean, crisp lines while retaining a soft, delicate enveloping quality, like the brand’s description of “putting on a comfortable mohair sweater.”
The new Scented Body Wash and Scented Body Milk fully preserve the original perfume’s scent structure, so fragrance is no longer just the final step before heading out, but accompanies you throughout the day from the moment you shower. The body wash leaves a delicate scent on the skin as it cleanses, while the body milk pairs a lightweight texture with a moisturizing formula to extend the fragrance’s layers. It is also suitable for layering with the perfume, helping the scent last longer. For Acne Studios, this is not simply another beauty product, but a way to extend its aesthetic from clothing and accessories to the skin, making it part of a lifestyle.
