If you love using speakers to set the mood at home, the new “sound aura” feature on HomePod mini 2 is an instant eye-catcher. The top of the speaker now doubles as a visual canvas. As music plays, lights glow and pulse in real time with high and low frequencies. Playing a track triggers custom light effects matched to the album art, while switching to soundscapes like rain brings up dedicated animations, adding an instant touch of ritual to your room from a compact speaker.

For audio performance, HomePod mini 2 supports acting as the default speaker for Mac. Paired with the new Apple TV 4K, it enables a four-speaker surround sound setup for Apple’s most immersive home theater experience yet. It comes in pink, green, blue, white, and midnight.

2. 7-inch display smart hub HomeView: A chic accent piece for your space

Alongside the speaker, the debut of Apple HomeView brings the biggest surprise. Featuring a sleek aluminum design, the device connects a 7-inch Liquid Retina display to a hemispherical speaker base via a stainless steel hinge. It looks striking on kitchen counters, side tables, or nightstands, and comes in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray.

HomeView dynamically adjusts brightness between 0.3 and 500 nits based on ambient light, while leveraging distance sensing and facial recognition. From far away, it shows simple info, but as you walk up, it switches to detailed content alongside your personal calendar and reminders.

Built-in Siri AI powered by Apple Intelligence makes controlling smart appliances, taking FaceTime calls, and searching for songs feel smoother and more natural. A wall-mounted model is also available, pairing with custom Schneider Home mounts to fit effortlessly onto entryway or hallway walls.

3. Apple Home Collection: Privacy that even tilts the camera lens away

To round out the smart home experience, Apple joined forces with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric on the Apple Home Collection accessory line, including a dual-lens video doorbell, automatic floodlight camera, outdoor and indoor security cameras, a smart thermostat, and a smart lock.

Every accessory sets up directly from an iPhone or the Home app without installing third-party apps, with end-to-end encryption built in. The privacy details on the LG Indoor Cam stand out — the lens automatically tilts down and stops monitoring when family members arrive home, addressing common privacy concerns about indoor cameras. Paired with iCloud+, Apple Intelligence generates video summaries, letting you search the past 10 days of footage using natural language.
