Zoom and Swipe Directly on Screen! The All-New MacBook Pro Introduces OLED Display, Touch Control, and a Lighter Design

If you’re used to using an iPad or iPhone, have you ever instinctively reached out to tap your Mac screen? This time, Apple has actually made it happen. The all-new MacBook Pro brings a surprising change: touchscreen support for the first time, plus the familiar Dynamic Island from the iPhone right at the top of the display.

Looking at its exterior, the tandem OLED display dubbed PROLED XDR instantly catches the eye. Blacks are deeper and richer, with peak brightness reaching up to 2,000 nits—keeping everything crisp whether you’re outdoors or by a bright window.

Because the touch sensors are integrated directly into the display panel, scrolling through web pages with a light swipe or pinching to zoom into photos feels incredibly responsive and smooth. You can even drag files or windows straight across the screen with your finger. To prevent wobble when tapping the screen, the display hinge has also been reinforced.

The familiar Dynamic Island at the top of the screen now serves as a helpful real-time hub. Switching music tracks, receiving AirDrop files, or answering phone calls can all be handled with a simple tap, eliminating the need to scramble through open windows.

Beyond the intuitive features, it is also lighter in hand. This generation of MacBook Pro is slimmer than ever, with the 14-inch model dropping to around 1.36 kg (about 227 grams lighter) and the 16-inch model down to around 1.82 kg. Despite the lighter body, battery life still lasts up to 24 hours, and a 30-minute charge gets you back to 50%, offering real peace of mind for a full day of work on the go.

On the performance front, it packs the all-new M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, handling 8K video editing, 3D animation, and complex AI model computations effortlessly. The six-speaker system boosts bass output by 50%, pairing with Spatial Audio to deliver a richer, more immersive sound for movies and music.
