The plush flower shop people are lining up for around the world: Cj Hendry’s “Flower Shop” is in Taiwan now, with hundreds of blooms to choose from
Romance that isn’t bound by any flower season!
Fresh flowers fade, but every bloom in this flower shop can be treasured for years to come. After sparking queues in New York, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Hong Kong, Cj Hendry’s “Flower Shop” has finally made its Taiwan debut. Opening at Taipei’s Breeze Center on August 28, it transforms a corner of the mall into a soothing, dreamlike art flower shop with more than 100 colorful plush flowers.

Brisbane-born, New York-based artist Cj Hendry first gained attention for hyperrealistic drawings that look almost like photographs. She has used ink to depict luxury shopping bags and everyday objects, collaborated with brands including Christian Louboutin, and had her work collected by celebrities such as Pharrell Williams and Vera Wang.
In 2024, Cj Hendry created “Flower Market,” a large-scale immersive art project in New York made from 100,000 plush flowers. Though it was open only briefly, it drew huge crowds and its colorful scenes quickly swept social media. The subsequent “Flower Shop” condenses the large flower market into an art space where visitors can freely choose, arrange, and collect flowers. It has since traveled to New York, Melbourne, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Hong Kong; Taipei is now the fifth stop on its global tour, bringing the full dreamlike experience of this buzzworthy flower shop to the city.
Calla lilies, peonies, and even scallions become flowers! Which of the seven Taiwan-exclusive designs would you most like to collect?

The most anticipated highlight of “Flower Shop TAIPEI” is its seven new flowers inspired by impressions of Taiwan. Cj Hendry transforms Yangmingshan’s Zhuzihu spring scenery into elegantly shaped calla lilies; deep-red roses in full bloom depict the passionate, mature romance of urban Taipei; and layered peonies represent fulfillment, prosperity, and blessings.
Desert roses symbolize the abundant vitality nurtured by southern Taiwan’s sunshine, while crown flowers blooming with their heads held high reflect a gentle yet steadfast resilience. Free-spirited poppies resemble people in the city living at their own pace. The most smile-inducing of all is the “scallion hydrangea,” inspired by the everyday Taiwanese dining table. Looking at the familiar scallion from a different angle, the artist gathers its tiny blossoms into a round flower ball, giving an ordinary ingredient an unexpectedly adorable form.
