Central Harbourfront turns into a dreamy garden as Australian artist Cj Hendry creates a sea of 150,000 plush flowers, with its first Asian stop in Hong Kong
This hyperreal plush feast is definitely March’s most beautiful photo spot!
As “Art March” arrives, Hong Kong’s streets are taking on an even stronger artistic atmosphere. If you’re looking for an exhibition that’s Instagram-worthy and soothing at the same time, don’t miss this event coming to Central Harbourfront. Australian hyperrealist artist Cj Hendry is bringing her signature immersive installation, “Henderson Land x Cj Hendry Flower Market,” to Hong Kong. It marks the work’s Asian debut and will transform the heart of the city into a surreal garden filled with 150,000 plush flowers.

A softer side of hyperrealist art: 150,000 plush flowers in bloom
Located at Central Harbourfront, “Henderson Land x Cj Hendry Flower Market” takes the form of a pavilion resembling a light-filled greenhouse. Step inside, and you’ll be struck by the vast sea of flowers: more than 150,000 plush flowers in 26 designs, all created by Cj Hendry herself.
Unlike her previous detailed drawings, Cj Hendry has delicately captured the textures and forms of flowers this time. From classic chrysanthemums and fresh daffodils to lively sunflowers and elegant violets, each bloom seems to have a life of its own, while retaining the uniquely soft, warm feel of plush. The work continues her near-obsessive pursuit of hyperrealism through detail.
To celebrate this Asian debut, Cj Hendry has specially designed two Hong Kong-exclusive works that explore the connection between art and urban space. One is the bauhinia, a symbol of Hong Kong’s spirit, with lines that echo the architectural silhouette of The Henderson, Henderson Land’s flagship landmark. The other, Henderson Flower, was created especially for Henderson Land Development’s 50th anniversary, bringing the softness of flowers into a poetic artistic dialogue with the strength of urban architecture.
Cj Hendry has always believed that art should be part of everyday life, so admission to this event is free (reservation link). Best of all, every visitor can choose one plush flower to take home as a free keepsake. If you’d like to collect more designs, they’re also available on-site for HK$ 38 each. Unlike fresh flowers, which fade quickly, these plush blooms can preserve the memory of the art forever. If you’re in Hong Kong or planning to visit in March, be sure to set aside some time and fall into this pastel plush universe.
