Acne Studios bags have a certain charm that’s hard to pin down. Without needing a loud logo, they are instantly recognizable by a bit of imperfect leather or an unexpected silhouette. For Spring/Summer 2027, the brand reimagines its womenswear collection as a collision of history and modernity, and naturally, the accessories are what fans are zooming in on. The Camero, which has been gaining popularity recently, is updated in washed leather, even shrinking ornate Renaissance-style picture frames down into buckles. Meanwhile, the familiar Musubi has quietly transformed, returning with a softer silhouette. It looks like next season’s Acne Studios bags will prove that the older and more imperfect they get, the more captivating they are.

The Camero develops a vintage feel

If you’ve been keeping an eye on Acne Studios bags over the last few seasons, the Camero should be a familiar sight. For Spring/Summer 2027, the brand reinterprets the bag once again, using washed leather that looks like it’s already been broken in. Paired with a more casual webbing shoulder strap, the already retro silhouette feels even more effortless. But the detail really worth zooming in on is hidden in the hardware.

Some Camero bags feature ornate buckles that resemble Renaissance picture frames, shrinking classical details usually found on gallery walls and placing them right onto the bag. This exquisite metal decoration meets intentionally aged leather; the contrast between ornate and rugged creates the exact tension Acne Studios excels at. It perfectly echoes the season’s design concept—bringing together two things that originally didn’t belong to each other.

The classic Musubi also gets a subtle update

Alongside the Camero, the brand’s other signature bag, the Musubi, arrives in a new version. Previously, the Musubi’s most memorable features were its sculptural body and the knot design inspired by the traditional Japanese obi sash. This time, however, Acne Studios has softened the silhouette.

The new version adds a front flap design and a slender shoulder strap, losing some of its original structure for a relaxed drape against the side of the body. If the Musubi used to be a highly recognizable statement bag, the Spring/Summer 2027 version feels more like an everyday piece you can carry daily while still retaining that Acne Studios personality.

Next season’s It Bag doesn’t have to look brand new

Interestingly, neither bag strives for a pristine, perfect appearance, mirroring the mood of the entire Spring/Summer 2027 collection. Creative Director Jonny Johansson views denim as a time-traveling canvas, pulling Renaissance paintings, classical garments, and distressed textures into the same world. Even artist Faig Ahmed’s traditional rugs in the show space appeared as if they were melting or disappearing.

As a result, the washed leather of the Camero, its antique frame-like buckles, and the increasingly soft silhouette of the Musubi all feel like things left behind by time. While everyone else is searching for the next brand-new It Bag, Acne Studios offers an interesting answer: a bag doesn’t have to look flawless; maybe it’s those traces of time that make you want to carry it forever.
