#PFW: Are the zigzag headbands from our school days back? The Miu Miu girl grows up but stays free and rebellious!

Every Paris Fashion Week, it feels as though we’re waiting for a “Miu Miu moment.” Led by Miuccia Prada, the brand always redefines how we imagine a woman’s wardrobe in ways that are clever and a little mischievous, and this season is no exception. That familiar rebellious schoolgirl spirit remains, now marked by the passage of time. The overall mood is more mature, with more of a story to tell.

If past Miu Miu was about the mischief of youth, this season feels more like an exploration of “what growing up looks like.” Miuccia Prada brought together faces from across generations: TXT’s Yeonjun, a star of the new generation, alongside ’90s and early-2000s icons Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Ward, Kristen McMenamy, and Gillian Anderson. The show created the illusion of layers of time, as though the Miu Miu girl had grown up while still holding on to her quirky spirit and confidence.
Titled “Mindful Intimacy,” the collection focuses on “control over bodily autonomy and the expression of self-worth.” Close-fitting clothes seem to actively embrace the body, while the sweetness of cotton fabrics and bows balances the weight of shearling tweed and leather. Paired with sheer tulle, they create an added sense of dimension and lightness.
Many of the looks also carried a familiar retro mood: jackets with fuzzy trim, sheer dresses with sequin embroidery, beaded slides… Oh, and of course, the “jagged black headbands” worn by the models. They are sure to bring back memories of school days for many. Their unexpected return to the runway can’t help but bring a smile.

From its casting of nostalgic figures to the unexpected return of everyday accessories, the show felt like a style collage of the different stages of a woman’s life.
