#PFW: Acne Studios’ 30th anniversary show is unmissable, packing heritage, rebellion, and style into one
The new season’s collection moves between memory, rebellion, and elegance!
As Acne Studios marks its 30th anniversary, the brand isn’t approaching its heritage as a simple retrospective. Instead, it has chosen to deconstruct and combine it, giving it a new form. For creative director Jonny Johansson, the brand is like a library that preserves memories, carrying cultural references from different eras, musical inspiration, and creative obsessions. These fragments form the central narrative foundation of this season’s collection.

This season’s show was staged like a series of interconnected rooms, creating a quiet atmosphere with a sense of distance. Preppy style, minimalism, and aristocratic dressing codes collide throughout the collection, shaping Acne Studios’ vision of the contemporary woman. Cropped leather jackets, slim tapered jeans, sharp blazers, and layered knits bring the brand’s signature pieces to life again in a younger, more distinct context.

The use of prints and materials remains a highlight this season. Prince of Wales checks, hydrangea motifs, and abstract animal prints are deconstructed and reworked, creating visual tension between retro and avant-garde. The accessories are equally worth noting: curved pointed-toe shoes, streamlined slanted sunglasses, and a new top-handle bag feature tilted, sculptural silhouettes that reflect Acne Studios’ signature avant-garde aesthetic. The classic Camero bag also returns in an oversized travel-bag size, bringing a stronger fashion attitude to everyday practicality.
For Acne Studios, heritage has never been about remaining in the past. It takes on new forms through constant reworking and forward momentum. As it marks its 30th anniversary, the brand once again proves through this season’s collection that what makes a classic truly captivating is not preservation, but continual redefinition.
