From the Critics Choice Awards to the Golden Globes, one awards show after another makes it hard for movie fans not to look forward to the start of each year. And, of course, there’s the main event: The Academy Awards. 2026 Academy Awards 1. When and where is the ceremony?

The 98th Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on March 15, 2026. As in past years, the ceremony will officially begin at 4:00 p.m. local time, or 8:00 a.m. on March 16 in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The 2025 Oscars drew some of their strongest ratings in the past five years, and host Conan O’Brien deserves much of the credit, earning praise for both the numbers and online discussion. About two weeks after the ceremony, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that O’Brien would return to host the Academy Awards for a second consecutive year.

So far, the Oscars production team has announced a performance of “Golden,” nominated for Best Original Song, bringing HUNTR/X to the live stage with Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami performing. Another nominee, Sinners, will feature Miles Caton, Raphael Saadiq, and their team performing “I Lied to You.” More performers are expected to be announced.

In the United States, the ceremony will air on ABC and stream on Hulu. In Taiwan, viewers can watch on Disney+, with red-carpet coverage beginning on the morning of March 16 and the ceremony scheduled to start at 7:00 a.m. Viewers in Hong Kong can tune in to ViuTVsix on channel 96.
