IKEA’s children’s collection this season is so endearing! This time, taking inspiration from the Himalayas and its surrounding natural environment, IKEA has launched the new ALPTALL children’s collection. For its third collaboration with the Swedish wildlife conservation center Nordens Ark, designer Malin Gyllensvaan has transformed rare wildlife from plateaus, forests, and deserts into soft plush toys and room decor you can hold in your arms. The entire plush toy line is carefully made with 100% recycled polyester fabric and filling, keeping things cute while prioritizing safety and sustainability.
Grumpy Pallas’s cats and hands-up red pandas—each one packed with detail
The biggest draw of the ALPTALL collection is how accurately it captures the wild animals’ most striking and memorable expressions and poses! First up is the inherently humorous ALPTALL Pallas’s cat plush, often dubbed the “grumpy cat.” The design team perfectly recreated its short legs, round body, and flat face, along with that serious expression caught right between annoyed and adorable. It’s an absolute visual standout with plenty of personality for a sofa or bedside table!
The ALPTALL red panda plush comes in two options: the classic version recreates its signature orange-red fur and striped tail, while the mini version captures the “hands up, standing on hind legs” threat posture the red panda takes when startled. Scaled down to 9 cm, the cuteness is completely off the charts—hang it on your backpack and your mood will instantly brighten just looking at it while you walk.
There are also oddly proportioned long-eared jerboas, baby Asian black bears (moon bears) with crescent markings on their chests, Bactrian camels, Bengal tigers, and snow leopards, letting you assemble your own high-altitude wildlife expedition right at home.
