Guided by the themes of “liberation, joy, and fearlessness,” KONSTRUNDA invited Andu Masebo, Lisa Hilland, Igor Holtermann, Ingrid Leander Berg, Emanuele Stamuli, Lisa Reiser, and Akanksha Deo to use the materials and creative languages they know best to rethink “What is art?” and how art can connect with everyday life.
They look like gallery pieces, yet they’re made to be used

Many of the collection’s pieces look, at first glance, as though they have been brought home from a gallery. Lisa Reiser uses glossy lacquered glass to create sleek, futuristic objects, while Andu Masebo uses tubular steel, lacquered pine, and mirrored stainless steel to create side tables, stools, and donut-shaped containers. The bold silhouettes and materials lend everyday furniture a sculptural quality while retaining its practical function.

What makes KONSTRUNDA so interesting is the way it blurs the line between artworks and everyday objects. Through IKEA’s expertise in mass production, the creators’ highly personal, experimental works can enter more homes, making art no longer something that needs to be explained or admired from afar, but part of everyday life that can truly be touched, used, and felt.
