Aman’s first resort in Mexico, Amanvari, is located in Costa Palmas on the east coast of Baja California Sur, where the desert, estuary, and Sea of Cortez meet. Continuing the brand’s tradition of Sanskrit names, “Aman” means peace, while “Vari” means water, echoing the resort’s geographic connection to the ocean. In keeping with Aman’s low-density approach to hospitality, the resort has just 18 standalone villas, each with a private pool, outdoor shower, and spacious terrace. Some offer direct beach access, while others overlook the estuary, bringing views of the sea, desert, and palm groves naturally into the room.

Unlike a typical resort, Amanvari hopes guests will truly immerse themselves in the Baja Peninsula’s natural surroundings, and has planned a wide range of exclusive experiences rooted in the local landscape. Guests can ride horseback through the estuary and along the beach before enjoying champagne at sunset; take an off-road vehicle deep into the Sierra de la Laguna mountains to swim beneath natural waterfalls; or ride electric mountain bikes along desert ridgelines. The ocean experiences are equally compelling, including snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez, deep-sea fishing, sunset yacht cruises, stand-up paddleboarding, eFoiling, and scuba diving, offering a close look at the rich marine ecosystem Jacques Cousteau called “the aquarium of the world.” Beyond outdoor activities, the resort also offers a series of immersive experiences, including harvesting ingredients from the organic garden alongside the chef, Mexican cooking classes, Raicilla tastings, coffee tastings, and a Chef’s Table centered on local ingredients, inviting guests to discover Baja’s culture and land through food.

For dining, Aman’s classic Italian restaurant Arva and Japanese restaurant Sesui will make their Mexican debuts, drawing on the Baja Peninsula’s abundant seafood and local ingredients for dining experiences that bring together Italian, Japanese, and Mexican flavors. Aman Spa continues the brand’s focus on mind-body healing with hydrotherapy circuits, a hammam, sound healing, sunrise yoga, and meditation classes. Guests can also take part in a traditional Mexican Temazcal purification ritual, led by a local shaman, using steam, herbs, and fire for a restorative journey of body and mind.
