Summary
- Shop-in-shop crossover concept: Partnering with "Hill Road Laundry" to create a cozy space where you can enjoy delicious yogurt while waiting for your laundry.
- New project from a Le Cordon Bleu chef: Founded by Shera, the owner of popular Sai Wan cafe "Twenty One From Eight," showcasing refined French culinary skills.
- Exclusive Real Froyo philosophy: Using 100% Australian pure yogurt and French cream, rejecting artificial vegetable oils and the air-whipped texture of soft serve.

If a trip to the laundromat meant you could enjoy a cup of cool, smooth frozen yogurt while you waited, wouldn’t that chore suddenly feel romantic and relaxing? Sai Wan’s Hill Road has just welcomed an exciting new spot—the frozen yogurt concept store Chill Hill is now officially open in Shek Tong Tsui. Most interestingly, it’s tucked inside the stylish Hill Road Laundry, completely reimagining the mundane nature of daily housework.
A sweet extension from a Le Cordon Bleu founder, bringing simple happiness to the Sai Wan community
Those familiar with the Sai Wan food scene will surely know the wood-toned cafe Twenty-One From Eight nearby. The soul behind Chill Hill is Shera, the same founder of Twenty-One From Eight. Having studied at Le Cordon Bleu in France, she previously won over countless diners with her Crème Brûlée French Toast and Mochi Tiramisu. Now, she is extending her passion for cooking and the joy of sharing desserts to the world of frozen yogurt by founding Chill Hill, injecting a playful and heartwarming energy into this vibrant neighborhood.
The shop also features a pair of original characters: Chill, a soft yogurt spirit, and Hill, a shy bald boy. Whenever Chill gently sits on Hill’s head, she becomes his perfect “hair,” a cute metaphor for the brand’s philosophy that happy pairings create complete moments.
Ditching traditional soft serve methods: A commitment to Clean Label “Real Froyo”
Chill Hill doesn’t serve the typical froyo that’s pumped with air, water, or emulsifiers to create a fluffy soft-serve texture. Instead, Shera insists on using high-density, house-blended yogurt blocks to make “Real Froyo.” The base uses 100% Australian pure yogurt paired with French cream, using natural animal fats to create an exceptionally smooth texture that perfectly balances the yogurt’s acidity, with no artificial vegetable oils or trans fats.
Even better, the brand follows a Clean Label philosophy, skipping white sugar and high-fructose corn syrup in favor of more expensive natural trehalose. With only 45% of the sweetness of traditional sugar, it significantly reduces blood sugar spikes and that cloying sugary feeling. For health-conscious people or fitness enthusiasts, it’s a guilt-free reward after a workout. All base yogurts and blending processes are done on-site with high-torque machines, ensuring every bite is pure, natural flavor.
At Chill Hill, prices start from HK$ 50. Customers can choose from eight Curated Creations (with four available during the soft opening). Options include the refreshing “Very Berries” (HK$ 56), a blend of acai, mixed berries, honey, and vanilla; or the Mediterranean-inspired “Medi Delight” (HK$ 58), which combines balsamic vinegar, crushed pistachios, and dates for an elegant, layered flavor. There’s also the tropically fruity “Tropical Wave” (HK$ 58) and the “Banoffee” (HK$ 50), which recreates the classic dessert flavor, making it hard to choose just one.
Beyond the signature creations, the shop will later launch NomNom, Happy, and Burrrp cups (starting from HK$ 40), allowing everyone to freely choose their own blends, toppings, and sauces. The topping list is impressive, ranging from classic Lotus Biscoff crumbs and brownies to unique genmai crunch and pistachios, and even whole foods like avocado, figs, and mixed berries. The next time you pass the slope of Hill Road, stop by this little shop combining laundry and dessert for a moment of relaxation.
