Salomon has officially launched its new SOLUS trail running capsule collection, developed with guest designer Jeremy Karl, a former key member of DONDA’s creative team. The collection not only incorporates professional trail-running performance into minimalist silhouettes, it also reimagines outdoor running apparel through a highly understated French perspective.

Trail running apparel has traditionally brought to mind high-contrast neon colors, designed solely to stand out in the mountains. SOLUS takes the opposite approach, drawing from mountain landscapes for low-saturation shades of earth brown, rock gray, and foliage green. Jeremy Karl brings “Form follows function” to life by stripping away superfluous technical details and returning the clothing to its purest cuts and interplay of light and shadow.
Freedom of movement: Five innovative RE-SYSTEM technologies
Beyond its instantly appealing look, SOLUS stands out for how it rethinks professional performance features. The collection is the first to introduce five RE-SYSTEM technologies: RE-ADJUST, a self-locking adjustment system with a woven hook-and-loop cord inside the waistband that lets you fine-tune the fit with a one-handed pull while running at high speed; RE-EXTENSION, a jacket with an expandable back that naturally stretches over a hydration vest and returns to a streamlined shape once it’s removed; RE-CUFF glove cuffs that can switch between full coverage and half-finger wear; the head-hugging RE-HOOD; and RE-CARGO, a rapid-packing storage system. Together, they address the pain points of dressing for outdoor activities.
A second wave of fall/winter gear is on the way
For those who want to show their taste through outdoor outfits, SOLUS offers a practical choice that doesn’t feel contrived. The first summer-to-fall collection includes a trail running jacket, windproof vest, quick-drying T-shirt, self-locking shorts, and skorts, and went on sale on September 5. The second fall/winter collection, featuring fleece midlayers and insulated jackets, is expected to arrive in November.
