You may have noticed it too: Zara seems to have become more stylish in recent years. Rather than setting its sights only on celebrities and brands, it has repeatedly partnered with designers, including Narciso Rodriguez, former YSL creative director Stefano Pilati, and Soshiotsuki founder Soushi Otsuki, winner of the LVMH Prize… Now, there is another unexpected surprise: John Galliano, the visionary designer who has spent more than 40 years in fashion, is collaborating with Zara too!

John Galliano left Maison Margiela in 2024 after 10 years with the house. Rumors had him returning to Dior or heading to Fendi, where the position was still vacant at the time… Yet no news followed. During a recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week, he revealed his next move: not a luxury fashion house, but Zara, a brand we all know well.

Zara and John Galliano are not simply collaborating on one or two capsule collections; they have signed a 2-year contract. As a “creative partner,” John will reinterpret Zara’s historical archives, and he began working with the team in January. In an interview with Vogue, John said he was excited about the collaboration and had already started work in January: “This collaboration will be based on silhouette and proportion, and it won’t belong to any established category. I can say with certainty that it transcends gender and the constraints of seasons.”
The first Zara x John Galliano collection will officially launch this September. If you’re interested, stay tuned for more updates.
