1. Divide your hair into left and right sections. Take a small section from the upper right side and secure it with an elastic, then repeat below it.
2. Split the upper ponytail in two and place the halves behind the elastic of the second ponytail, then flip the second ponytail upward. Secure a third ponytail with an elastic, then repeat.
3. Place the upper ponytail behind the elastic of the lower one, then flip the lower ponytail upward. Continue until all of your hair is done.
4. Repeat the same steps on the left side.

Japanese-style braids are all about a soft look. Loosen the braid to create gentle lines.

1. Part your hair down the middle into left and right sections, then tie two low ponytails. Pull the elastic on one ponytail down slightly.
2. Make an opening in the hair above the ponytail, then turn the ponytail inward through it.
3. Leave a small gap, secure another elastic, then repeat the steps above.
4. Repeat on the right side, then loosen the hair slightly to finish.

This is also a double ponytail braid, though this version is even easier and full of youthful charm!

1. Tie a low ponytail and pull it tight, while loosening the hair at the crown.
2. Pull apart the elastic you just tied, thread a ribbon through it, then tie the ribbon into a bow.
3. Next, divide the ponytail into left and right sections. Split one of those sections in two again, leaving you with four sections in total.
4. Take the two sections on the left, then weave the ribbon from underneath around the right side of the hair, then from underneath around the left side. Continue in the same way.
5. Once the ribbon reaches the end of the ponytail, wrap it around both the left and right sections at once, then secure it with a hairpin.

Adding a ribbon to a braid instantly gives the style more character. Although a ribbon braid may not be an everyday hairstyle, it’s definitely one to learn!

1. Tie a ponytail to secure the hair.
2. Divide the ponytail in half with both hands, then twist the sections outward to secure them.
3. Bring the two sections back together and secure them with a second elastic where you want the next bubble to be. Add as many bubbles as your hair length allows, repeating the same steps.
4. Finally, adjust the braided sections slightly. A little messiness makes it look more natural.

1. Starting from the line of your ears, find a suitable spot at the back of your head to tie your hair, then secure it with an elastic.
2. Tie another elastic around the middle of the ponytail.
3. Make an opening in the ponytail between the two elastics, then pull the ends through it with one hand.
4. Hold the elastic with one hand and adjust the hair with the other to create a flattering head shape.
5. Loosen the hair slightly between the two elastics. Fold the ends downward once, then fold them a second time and secure them with the elastic to form a bun.
6. Use both hands to make an opening between the elastic and your scalp. Use your fingers to tuck the bun into it from below, then adjust the shape.

With the right method, braiding can be very simple! This elegant low bun braid, for example, is finished simply by folding the tied hair downward.
