More than makeup: CHANEL’s denim collection lands with new bags, bringing exactly the kind of effortless chic we want for spring and summer

Maybe you feel the same way I do: under new artistic director Matthieu Blazy, Chanel has become lighter, softer, and infused with a relaxed sense of fun, making you fall for this classic brand all over again without even realizing it. Among the new pieces he has quietly unveiled one after another, the denim collection from the 2026 Spring/Summer Pre-Collection has really caught my eye.

When it comes to spring/summer keywords, “denim” is never left out. Chanel’s recently released spring/summer beauty collection had already put that denim blue front and center. From eyeshadow and lipstick to nail polish, Lily-Rose Depp and Karina brought out its edgy yet fresh mood to the fullest. Not to mention the limited-edition denim-inspired packaging, which was so beautiful it took over social media feeds and sent the buzz soaring.

Little did we know, this Chanel denim wave has made its way to the brand’s new bags, too. A quick scroll through the official website reveals that the popular CHANEL 25 mini has also gotten a new look, in washed denim with a metal chain strap. Its signature diamond quilting remains, while the tone-on-tone treatment makes the details subtly appear and fade away, adding a low-key, layered look that holds up over time.

There’s also a chain-strap evening bag that reinterprets denim through patchwork, bringing together different shades of denim. It gives the otherwise formal bag shape a more casual feel while retaining its refined character.

Another of the buzzed-about new pieces, the Chanel flap bag, arrives in a deeper denim shade, with bright orange stitching creating a striking contrast and adding a crisp, sharp edge to its classic silhouette. The collection also extends to a smaller half-moon bag and cardholder, with dark denim adding options for those who prefer a more distinctive look – sure to delight denim fans.
