Google 年度搜尋報告，在看過 2021 韓國偶像熱門搜尋榜以及今年最多人搜尋的電視劇與電影後，對於時尚迷來說，接下來將會帶起的流行趨勢為何也是相當重要的大事，還記得 2020 年的熱門搜索為「獨立風格」（Indie Style），今年 Google 的數據更加深入的研究小眾市場，最主要的原因為受到了 TikTok 在全球流行的原因。

2021 年 Google 最多人搜尋的時尚關鍵字前 10 名包含了 Rave 風、學院風、Cottagecore、90 年代服裝和節日服裝等，從這些熱門搜尋不妨可以看出今年大眾從時尚搜尋搜索的內容，主要都以獨樂美學與小眾趨勢作為主要的探索方向， 而從人們對於狂歡和 Preppy 重新產生興趣，表示次文化的時代又再度回歸，在 TikTok 和 Instagram 等平台上漸漸受到關注，許多年輕的千禧一代和 Z 世代時尚愛好者其實並沒有真正的落實次文化概念，而是將這個風格視為一種審美而非意識形態運動，不過此心態對於年長的千禧一代、X 世代和嬰兒潮一代來說較難理解，並不了解這樣的文化，純粹只是想穿成這樣，或許就是產生了所謂的「跟風」熱潮。
