Art Central 2026 Dates and Ticket Information

This year’s fair will be open to the public from March 25 through 29 at Central Harbourfront, which is easy to get to. What Can You Expect From the New Central Stage Program?

The biggest highlight this year is undoubtedly the debut of “Central Stage”! Co-curated by Cheng Tak On and Yung Wing Yi, the program spotlights six artists making their mark on the international art scene. They include Tokyo-based art collective SIDE CORE, which uses street culture to engage with urban spaces, and Iranian artist Elnaz Javani, who tells stories of migration through hand-stitched textiles. Also worth looking forward to are installations by Lithuanian artist Marta Frėjutė, who transforms everyday details into compelling narratives that are sure to broaden your horizons.

Supporting local art is also central to Art Central. This year, Hong Kong new media artist Kaitlyn Hau has been invited to create the large-scale commissioned work “Detour 0.01.” Combining motion-capture technology with real-time computational imagery, the piece interweaves digital bodies and sensory perception on a grand, striking scale. More than an artwork, it offers an in-depth dialogue on the relationship between technology and the body, making it an unmissable highlight of the fair.

Moving-Image Art and Performance Programs: Long Night and Polar Day

Beyond static paintings, this year’s performance and moving-image programs are also well worth seeing. The performance program “Long Night and Polar Day” will be presented daily at Central Theatre, with works including Liao Kar Ming’s performance blending the virtual and real, and Au Suet Yee’s surreal corridor of memories. Meanwhile, the moving-image art program “Bubbles in a Room” explores the connection between AI and human emotion. These cross-media experiences make an art fair about more than just looking at paintings, offering a fuller immersion in the artists’ worlds.

The Neo Sector and More Than 100 Participating Galleries
