For many fragrance enthusiasts, Diptyque’s crystal-clear glass vessel and playful dancing-letter oval label have long been the soul of their home’s atmosphere. Since the first scented candle debuted in 1963, it has been far more than a simple home accessory. Now, in 2026, Diptyque is bringing a modern sense of romance and sustainability to this classic piece with over 60 years of history.
Subtle updates to the glass vessel and label
Teaming up with French-Swiss designer Julie Richoz, Diptyque subtly reworked the contours of the glass vessel while keeping its iconic look intact. The walls now let through a softer light that makes the flickering flame feel more poetic, while a 10% weight reduction marries craftsmanship with environmental responsibility.
Created by co-founder Desmond Knox-Leet, the whimsical dancing-letter label now features a refined tactile embossing, giving the candle a beautiful feel every time you pick it up.
5 new scents: Sensory surprises from ground coffee to black sesame
Adding to its herbarium of over 50 scents, Diptyque teamed up with perfumers Alexandra Carlin and Olivia Giacobetti to introduce five surprising new raw materials.
Café: Recreates the smell of freshly ground coffee in a roastery, featuring roasted, warm, and rounded woody notes.
Ortie (Nettle): Delivers the fresh, watery crispness of green nettle stems along the roadside, perfectly balanced with soft underbrush notes.
Sésame Noir (Black Sesame): Captures the captivating roasted aroma of sesame seeds turning from white to black as they are toasted over precious woods.
Rhubarbe (Rhubarb): Tart, fruity rhubarb stalks pair with precious woods and bean notes for a highly lively botanical feel.
Shiso: A fresh aromatic scent accented with spice and a subtle hint of sweet almond, launching as a stunning Diptyque exclusive.
The long-awaited candle refills are finally here
To give the beautiful glass vessel a second life, Diptyque spent three years developing scented candle refills, officially launching in autumn 2026. The initial release features 10 iconic scents from the herbarium, encased in lightweight, recyclable bio-based paperfoam packaging. Reusing the glass vessel cuts the product’s carbon footprint by roughly 24%, making your fragrance ritual much more sustainable.
Luxury accessories: Fluted glass cloche and double-fired ceramic lids
A new accessory collection arrives alongside the candles to make lighting them feel like an artistic ritual. Highlights include a fluted cloche crafted from flame-blown borosilicate glass, whose vertical ribs refract light brilliantly alongside an oval ceramic tray featuring a pyramid mark, as well as a white pyramid lid and stand double-fired for a soft, velvety white finish. Match collectors won’t want to miss the Basile extra-large matchbox, printed with 1960s Art Deco graphics.
