Korean girls are all after it: New Balance’s new Kave just quietly dropped, and this “limited color” is the most popular
This secret colorway is only available at select stores
New Balance Korea’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection introduces the new Kave (SD2401) line in four highly wearable colorways. Black, Silver & Black, and Silver & Gray will be available at all stores, while the most talked-about Brown colorway will be limited to more than 50 selected brick-and-mortar stores, including locations in Seongsu-dong and Myeong-dong. Its highly recognizable silhouette has drawn plenty of attention since its debut, making it one of the releases to watch this season.

The Kave line debuts first in Korea
New Balance has consistently struck a chord with women through its sneaker designs in recent years, and the Kave line, unveiled first in Korea, is no exception. Although the brand has yet to launch a major promotional campaign, the shoes have quietly drawn many style-savvy Korean women since arriving in stores and on the official website.
This Spring/Summer 2026 release retains the brand’s signature comfort while giving its silhouette a more streamlined feel suited to modern tastes. This kind of understated design is, in fact, the easiest to work into an everyday wardrobe. Paired with loose cargo pants or a simple dress, it easily adds a relaxed, casual touch.
Four highly wearable colorways
According to New Balance Korea, the Kave comes in four highly wearable colorways. First is the versatile Black, followed by Silver & Black and Silver & Gray, both with a retro Y2K feel.
Silver sneakers have remained popular over the past few seasons. With a slightly futuristic feel that isn’t too flashy, these shades are ideal for brightening up an outfit. All three core colorways will be sold through New Balance Korea’s official online store and all physical locations, making them relatively easy to get.
Why Brown is the hardest colorway to get
If you’re looking for something a little different, keep an eye on this release’s hidden colorway: Brown. This earthy shade has a softer, warmer look, though it won’t be available at every store.
Official information shows that the Brown version is a limited release. Aside from the official website, it will only be available at directly operated stores in Seongsu-dong, Myeong-dong, and Sinchon, as well as at around 50 selected department-store counters across Korea, including Shinsegae, Lotte, and Hyundai. Because its points of sale were specially selected, interest in this colorway has quickly surged.
New Balance’s launch strategy for the Kave is quite smart. Popular shades such as Silver & Gray and Silver & Black appeal to the mainstream market, while the Brown version, limited to certain stores, creates scarcity and buzz. Earth-tone sneakers are easier to style than you might expect, especially with the cotton and linen pieces trending this spring and summer, which give the overall look an especially relaxed, polished feel. If you’re planning a trip to Korea soon, consider trying your luck at a physical store; you may be able to bring this talked-about new pair home.
