This Sailor Moon collab is just too beautiful: crystal hair clips, gem T-shirts... it’s like Usagi turns into a dreamy girl!
These gorgeous, high-quality pieces are pretty much impossible to resist~~
Do you remember the moment in childhood when Usagi Tsukino leapt into action, transformed, and saved the world? This time, Japanese designer brand tanakadaisuke has turned the magic of Sailor Moon into fashion pieces, stitching memories of waiting in front of the TV and shouting “Moon Prism Power, Make Up!” into T-shirts, hair accessories, and sparkling pieces. Unlike the straightforward cuteness of childhood merchandise, this collaboration feels like finally being able to collect a girlhood dream in your own way after growing up.
tanakadaisuke is probably a brand that anyone who loves intricate details would find hard to resist. Its ethereal style captures the many sides of girlhood, sometimes romantic and sometimes rebellious, and uses embroidery, beading, and delicate embellishments to make every piece feel like a collectible work of art.
Designer Daisuke Tanaka has been a Sailor Moon fan since childhood, and he has poured that affection into this collection. Familiar character motifs and sparkling elements are cleverly tucked into the details of the clothing, all wrapped in the brand’s signature romantic style.
One highlight of the collection is a range of T-shirts starring Sailor Venus, featuring her iconic Love-Me Chain and familiar dreamy imagery from her transformation. Another recreates the classic scene of Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion, accented with hand-sewn gem embellishments. Wearing it feels like putting on your dreams and letting them sparkle.
The accessories may be the most irresistible part of this collaboration. The Legendary Silver Crystal hair clip, designed around Usagi Tsukino’s signature motifs, is an almost exact recreation of the dreamy accessory from the anime. Clip it on, and it feels like adding a little pre-transformation ritual to an everyday look. Another highly collectible piece is a long velvet ribbon, available in three versions featuring Usagi, Chibiusa, and the five Sailor Guardians. Delicate gem details adorn the ends, adding a highlight to any look whether tied around your hair or onto a bag.
This collaboration officially launches on May 22 and will be available through tanakadaisuke, the official Sailor Moon online store, ZOZOTOWN, and STUDIOUS. It will also be sold at limited stores including the Sailor Moon Store in Harajuku, Japan, and the tanakadaisuke POP-UP STORE. Prices range from approximately ¥11,000 to ¥61,600, so interested readers may want to keep an eye out.
