今年初英國皇室發生了一件大事，就是哈里王子和梅根宣佈引退，要求過獨立生活。經過一番討論，英女皇最後也表示理解和支持，除了讓他們不再代表英女皇參與公職外，也讓他們財政獨立，就連皇室稱號「Sussex Royal」中的 Royal 也不能再用。來到 3 月最後一天，他們也終於在 Sussex Royal 這個 Instagram 上給大家一封告別信，宣佈正式告別英國皇室成員這個位置。

由於他們不能再次以 Royal 自稱，也代表 Sussex Royal 這個官方 Instagram 之後不能再用。他們於最後的聲明中以疫情作開端，表示世界看似脆弱，但只要大家有信心和互相幫助也能作出改變。筆鋒一轉，他指於全球在轉變的環境下，大家都在習慣和找尋自己的位置，而他跟家人也在專注於人生新的一章，了解自己如何能為世界作出最好的貢獻。雖然大家不能再於這裡看到他們的蹤影，但要知道他們的工作仍然在繼續。最後他跟梅根都感謝大家對他們的支持，並期待跟大家重新建立聯繫。

隨著近日有報導指哈里一家已經到美國洛杉磯定居，而梅根也確定會於 Disney+ 聲演，加上這封告別信最後的一句，相信他們會再次建立一個屬於自己的平台，以不同身份繼續跟粉絲們分享自己的生活和不同訊息。

哈里一家引退的事看似完結，但外國仍有不少評論直指他們的行為不負責任。皇家事務資深記者 Angela Levin 日前於專欄上指經過此事，哈里和梅根以後只會越來越自我中心，單看他們移居到洛杉磯和梅根馬上接下 Disney+ 的工作就可以得知，她更形容哈里和梅根為「容易被挑釁而作出反叛行為的青少年。」Angela Levin 指雖然一切看似已經安定下來，但哈里一家的離開絕對間接把英國皇室撕成碎片。

不論如何，哈里一家引退一事已成事實，一切是與非也只有他們及英國皇室成員才能夠下判斷。雖然大家未必再有機會常常看到哈里一家跟其他皇室成員相聚的畫面，但他也說過自己會永遠支持他的哥哥威廉王子，也不會忘記自己的義務，可見一時的分離並不會讓大家感情改變。
